The Greek soprano made a series of appearances in several European cities. In October, she took part in the Ensemble Opera Studio of the Genova Opera House and in some opera galas with baritone Ronaldo Panerai. Last summer, she participated in Claudio Monteverdi’s The Corronation of Poppea staged at the Onassis Cultural Center. She also performed in a concert as part of the Bohin Festival and featured in opera galas for the Art Ptui Festival. In Athens, Zinovia-Maria performed with Slovenian tenor Primož Vidovič and organist Arnfinn Tobiassen in a concert at St Paul’s Anglican Church as part of the Spring Organ Series. The soprano has been awarded first prize at the National Opera of Maribor’s “Ondina Otta” competition and second prize at the “Grand Prix Maria Callas” international competition. To date, she has performed, amongst others, in the roles of Frasquita in Bizet’s Carmen at the Ljubljana Opera House, of Adele in J.Strauss Die Fledermaus at the Maribor National Opera, of Gilda in Verdi’s Rigoletto at the Greek National Opera House and of Zerlina in the world premier of Pacini’s Don Giovanni at the Rossini Festival in Wilbad, Germany (the opera was released in CD in 2011 by Naxos). As a soloist, she has collaborated with orchestras in Greece, Slovenia and Bulgaria. She has also given solo recitals in Greece and Slovenia and participated in duets with a harp for concerts and festivals in Greece, Slovenia, Germany and Austria. Zinovia-Maria Zafeiriadou has received diplomas in Piano and Classical Singing with full marks by a unanimous decision of the examiners while studying German at the University of Athens from which she graduated. She also completed her postgraduate degree in solo performance at the Ljubljana Music Academy on a Maria Callas Scholarship and on a scholarship granted by the Onassis Foundation.
