"Secret School" was the title of the artist Christina Mitrenze’s individual exhibition, which was held in the area of Islington, London. In an effort to revive the myth of Secret School, the scholar created an installation within an old war shelter, portraying Secret School as an alternative educational place that treats the subject of how we perceive knowledge through constant interaction among Science, Knowledge and Content.
The processes of observation, collection, registering and presentation constitute the body of the setting. The artist uses photography, sculpture, objects and sound, elements that acquire a metaphorical meaning when participating in a discussion about the world.
Christina Mitrenze holds a diploma from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University in Thessalonica and, having been granted a scholarship by the Onassis Foundation, she obtained an MA in Fine Arts from the Chelsea College. Various works of Christina Mitrenze have been exhibited in Berlin, London and Thessalonica. In Thessalonica, she participated in an exhibition entitled "Rooms to Let".
