Maira Milolidaki

The Onassis Foundation scholarship holder, soprano Maira Milolidaki and the Melos Brass Quintet gave a concert at New York's Carnegie Hall on the 16th of November 2007, organized by the Onassis Foundation. They interpreted works of the pre-classical and classical period, compositions by Greek composers and adaptations of music for Greek folk dancing.

The Melos Brass Quintet is comprised by Socratis Anthis (trumpet), Panagiotis Kaisaris (trumpet), Andonis Lagos (Horn), Spyros Farougias (trombone) and Pavlos Georgiadis (tuba).

Maira Milolidaki appeared in Athens on the 7th of November 2007, at the festival entitled “Around the Piano”, organized by the Anglican Church. It was a concert featuring dance music ranging from the Baroque period to modern times, selected by Aris Christofellis. Scholarship holder Thanasis Apostolopoulos on piano and alto Elena Maragou also took part in the event.

As an Onassis Foundation scholarship holder, Maira Milolidaki studied in Milan, where in 2003 she received an award in the “Enrico Caruso” international competition for new lyrical voices. She has collaborated with important musical groups in Greece and abroad and with the Greek Composers Union and has also participated in recordings for the theatre.
