Pianist and composer Ermis Theodorakis gave a series of concerts in Chile in November 2008. He appeared in the Federico Santa Maria Technical University and the Goethe Institute in Santiago, with pianist Andrés Maupoint, playing four-hand piano pieces by Mozart, Messiaen, Fore, Schubert, Bizet, and Iannis Xenakis, a composer who the scholar has studied exhaustively.
In a solo recital, once more in Santiago, Ermis Theodorakis played all pieces for piano by Iannis Xenakis, as well as a composition of his own, "Variations" (in a Y. Ioannidis theme) (2002). On the occasion of his appearances in Chile’s capital, the scholar gave at the University of Chile three lectures on Xenakis’s work and the current methods of interpretation of complex musical pieces.
Ermis Theodorakis performed also, in the context of the Athens Festival which took place recently, in the Dimitris Mitropoulos Hall of the Athens Concert Hall, accompanying the. Ermis Theodorakis’s composition "Integration" (2007) for solo cello made its debut in the summer played by Frank Kox in Kammermusiksaal, Leipzig. The concert also included his works "Melody" (2005) for any solo voice and "Music for 5" (2005-2006) for clarinet, bass clarinet, viola, cello and contrabass.
