The affiliated Foundation adds to its effort of promoting Modern Greek Culture with the organization of a series of lectures. Within the framework of the University Seminars Program, highly-esteemed scholars and professors from all over the world are invited to offer a series of seminars, lectures and courses in universities and major cultural and educational centres in North and South America and Canada each semester. The invitees – who offer the mini courses and semester courses, are included in the educational program of each university as Onassis Visiting Professors and their students receive the corresponding grades.
In order to support the classes and seminars, the Foundation provides all the books and manuals suggested by the lecturers so that students can adequately prepare for the courses. After the end of each course, the books and manuals are donated to the respective university libraries.
Moreover, in collaboration with Oxford University Press- USA, original scientific works, which are presented for the first time during the lectures in the frame of the University Seminars Program, are published in the collection of books Onassis Series in Hellenic Culture.
From the Programs inception in 2000 up to the present, more than 140 Professors, scientists and personalities have offered seminars, lectures and courses in more than 360 University departments, Museums, and other major educational and cultural centres across the US, Canada and Central and South America.
