The Onassis Foundation established the Special Grant and Support Programme for Scholars’ Association members in 1999, via which it is able to support the activities of the Scholars’ Association members in a more systematic way.

This programme is announced annually and foresees the following objectives: a) award and publication of a PhD thesis which has received recognition in the academic community, b) funding of two research projects with participation of at least one member of the Scholars’ Association and c) funding of a scientific conference or important cultural event with participation of members of the Scholars’ Association and with possible participation of personalities from abroad.

This special grant has been awarded to approximately 60 members of the Scholars’ Association until 2010.
